Where does your inspiration come from? I feed mine by getting out there with my camera on a regular basis and one of my favourite places to go is Elmley Nature reserve in Kent. Zaffie and I are in our second year of regular visits. Every visit is a delight. We book one of their Sheppard Huts for a couple of nights. Until this recent visit we’d always taken the simple basic one but this time we had Zaffie’s 3-month-old daughter with us for her first adventure so we went for the new deluxe hut – Damson. Flushing loos, hot water and outside bath. Fantastic.
We were hoping for hares, marsh harriers some new photos of chickens and wild birds and if we were really lucky a crested grebe – one day I’ll get a photo good enough for a mug. As ever though, nature was in charge. We the car as our hide and the baby strapped in we had a fantastic morning with hares. The skies were overcast and the light not good and then suddenly there was a little sun and lots of hares
We went back the following morning to the same location, the weather was much better and there was hardly a hare around.
